Pattachitra style painiting , which blends oral storytelling with visual imagery.The word "Patta" is derived from the Sanskrit and Pali word meaning "cloth," and "Chitra" means "picture." Patachitra means "picture painted on cloth," and it refers to a storytelling tradition originating in the Medinipur region of West Bengal.
A special feature of Bengal’s Patachitra is that the stories are essentially from Hindu mythology but the artists are overwhelmingly Muslim. This is a classic case of communal harmony practised down the generations in West Bengal.

Bibhuti Behra ,29 years,a seasoned Pattachitra artist who has learnt the Traditional Art from his father a nationally acclaimed renowned Pattachitra Artist ,has picked up his brush at an age of 10 and over these years has painted numerous pattachitra paintings over various mediums which has scored him awards beyond count.8 Years back he joined the rangamaati family of Artisans and been painting on Silk Sarees and Duppattas for rangamaati eevr since.
He is painting Dasavataras, Krishna Leela ,excerpts from mythological Ramayana Ardhanariswara (a traditional form of Lord Shiva and Parbati)and many more for our patrons PAN India and Globally. ...
