Manjuri learned Zardozi at 14, watching her mother embroider trousseau pieces for brides. Today, she leads a small unit of 4 women, creating contemporary Zardozi for sarees, jackets, and frames. Before Project Rangamaati, work came only during wedding season. Now, with direct orders and fair wages, her team works all year.

Her biggest pride? Her 17-year-old niece just finished her first peepal patti motif. “Amar haater kaj jokhon keu pore, mone hoy purono rajdorbar abar jege uthlo.” (“When someone wears my work, I feel the old royal courts have woken again.”).
