Proudly INDIA

To preserve their beauty, handwoven fabrics require careful handling.

Fabric Care – Handwoven Premium Linen

Washing :

1. Hand wash separately in cold or lukewarm water (up to 30°C).

2. Use a mild, pH-neutral detergent; avoid harsh chemicals and bleach.

3. Do not wring the fabric—**gently squeeze** out excess water.

4. For machine wash (if necessary), use the delicate/gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag.

Drying

5. Air-dry in shade to maintain colour and prevent fibre weakening.

6. Avoid direct sunlight for long hours.

7. Do not tumble-dry; it can cause shrinkage.

8. Lay flat or hang to dry, ensuring the fabric maintains its natural shape.

Ironing

9. Iron while the fabric is slightly damp for the best results.

10. Use a medium to high heat setting with steam.

11. Iron on the reverse side to preserve texture and sheen.

Storing

12. Store in a cool, dry place.

13. Avoid plastic covers—use muslin or breathable cotton bags instead.

14. Keep folded neatly; avoid hanging heavy linen garments for long periods to prevent stretching.

General Care

15. Linen naturally softens with every wash—this is normal and enhances comfort.

16. Expect minor slubs or texture variations—these are signature traits of handwoven linen, not defects.

17. Keep away from rough surfaces to avoid snagging.

18. For stains, treat immediately with a mild stain remover; avoid rubbing vigorously.

Hand-Dyeing of Premium Linen Yarns – Process & Key Considerations

1. Fiber Selection & Preparation

* Premium, long-staple linen yarns are chosen for their superior strength, sheen, and absorbency.

Yarns are carefully *scoured and pre-washed** to remove natural oils, dust, and sizing, ensuring even dye penetration.

2. Pre-Treatment & Conditioning

Yarns are *mordanted or conditioned** as required, depending on dye type (reactive, vat, or natural dyes).

* Controlled moisture levels are maintained to support consistent dye uptake.

3. Artisanal Dye Application

Dyeing is performed in *small batches**, allowing precision in color development.

Each hank is *individually handled**, enabling artisans to achieve uniform coloration or intentional tonal variations.

* Temperature, pH, and dye concentration are meticulously monitored.

4. Color Development & Fixation

* Yarns are kept in the dye bath for a carefully measured duration to ensure full saturation.

* Fixation techniques are applied to lock color into the fiber, enhancing wash fastness and light fastness.

5. Rinsing & Neutralization

* After dyeing, yarns are thoroughly rinsed to remove excess dye.

* Neutralization steps help protect the fiber and stabilize color.

6. Drying & Setting

* Hanks are air-dried under controlled conditions to maintain fiber integrity.

* Drying in shade prevents color fading and preserves the natural sheen of linen.

7. Quality Control & Shade Matching

Each batch undergoes *rigorous inspection** for color uniformity, fastness parameters, and structural consistency.

* Shade cards and lab dips are maintained to ensure repeatability.

8. Sustainability Practices

* Water use is minimized through careful dye-bath management.

Preference is given to *low-impact dyes and eco-friendly auxiliaries** wherever possible.

* Wastewater is treated to meet environmental standards.

9. Artisanal Value

Hand-dyeing imparts a *distinctive depth and richness** to the yarn not achievable by mass dyeing.

* Subtle irregularities and tonal nuances are celebrated as hallmarks of handcrafted luxury.

Azo-Free Dye Waiver

Our products are dyed using Azo-free dyes, ensuring that no harmful Azo compounds or carcinogenic amines are used in the dyeing process. This guarantees safer handling for artisans, a healthier product for consumers, and a reduced impact on the environment.

By purchasing this product, you acknowledge and agree that the dyes used meet Azo-free compliance standards, and slight tonal variations may occur due to the handcrafted nature of the dyeing process.
